CHICAGO (March 3, 2026) — Cross Street, a Chicago-based residential real estate firm, today announced it has incorporated Peak Properties, a leading real estate property management company whose portfolio comprises over 9,000 units in neighborhoods throughout Chicago, into its national platform.
Peak Properties will continue operating in Chicago as a trusted and independent brand as Cross Street leverages Peak’s resources and processes to launch its own management platform for mid- and high-rise multifamily communities across the country. The new structure adds property management to Cross Street’s comprehensive suite of services that help its clients buy, sell, rent, develop and invest in residential properties. Including the Peak units under management, Cross Street’s leasing and management portfolio will comprise nearly 12,000 apartments in Chicago, Denver and Cleveland.
"This is a true case of cross-pollination, where the combined strengths of Cross Street and Peak Properties create something more powerful than the sum of their individual parts,” said Shane Rachman, president of Cross Street. “By integrating Peak’s decades-long, Chicago-rooted management infrastructure with our creative leasing and marketing capabilities, Cross Street is laying the foundation to deliver holistic, full-stack services for owners and developers while positioning the company for continued long-term growth.”
The dual-brand approach will allow Cross Street to thoughtfully match owners with the management solution best suited to their asset type, investment strategy and operational needs while maintaining a consistent commitment to superior service. Supported by the same back-end platform, the structure is designed to create efficiencies and deliver cost savings for clients.
"This next chapter is a natural evolution for Peak Properties and represents an alignment of shared values,” said Mike Zucker, who founded Peak almost 30 years ago in the basement of a building on Chicago’s North Side.
Zucker will continue to work on the Chicago-based management portfolio, construction, business development, and investor and client relationships.
"Shane is my nephew and has spent the past 12 years in real estate, including starting his career with Peak and playing an integral role in growing the business,” said Zucker. “I could not be prouder to have worked with him over the years. Continuing to work with him and seeing him step into these shoes to grow both brands is a real joy.”
"Shane learned the foundational skills that made Cross Street a success through years of working alongside our team, and his experience, vision and leadership make him the perfect person to bring Peak under the Cross Street umbrella, allowing our existing clients to continue utilizing our established platform without disruption while expanding Cross Street’s service offerings,” continued Zucker.
Built on operational insight, market expertise and a person-to-person approach, Cross Street has become one of the fastest-growing new real estate brands. The company’s recent momentum has earned it recognition on the 2024 and 2025 Inc. 5000 lists of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Our Capital Projects team is a mighty one—and at the helm is none other than Andre Shakom.
Andre is our go-to for everything from emergency repairs to thoughtful capital improvements and preventive maintenance. From large-scale masonry work to basement repurposing, Andre manages each project from the first quote to the final walkthrough.
When a big project hits (like the renovation he recently lead), Andre is calm, cool, and collaborative—ready to problem-solve and follow through to the very end.
Andre thrives on the variety each day brings at Peak. Whether he's working directly with residents, navigating a tricky inspection, or collaborating with colleagues, he's always ready with a smile. He's passionate about learning new skills and honing the old; staying sharp and focused. He's also responsible for keeping our inspection department in check, because quality never takes a back seat on his watch.
Outside of work? Andre enjoys time with his family, exploring hiking trails near & far, and cruising on his Onewheel. Bonus: He's an excellent cook and we heard his frittatas are legendary with fresh veggies and herbs from his garden.
Andre, your thoughtful leadership, attention to detail, and dedication leave a lasting impression on our team, our owners, and the residents we serve. We're lucky to have you!

We're excited to announce our newest management assignment: Five Points Lakeview, a 5-story, 52-unit new construction community featuring 5,500 square feet of street-level retail. Perfectly positioned at the intersection of Lakeview, Southport Corridor, North Center, and Ravenswood, this location puts residents steps from some of Chicago's most loved neighborhood staples – including Paulina Meat Market, Loba Cafe, Steingold's Deli, and Southport Grocer. Huge thanks to Macon Construction Group, Inc. for delivering another standout project. We look forward to welcoming new residents home this spring and bringing Peak's resident-first management approach to the neighborhood.

Earlier this month, several members of our team laced up their running shoes for the Santa Hustle 5K here in Chicago – all in support of Cal's Angels, a pediatric cancer foundation dedicated to granting wishes, raising awareness, and funding critical research for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
We love seeing our team come together outside the office, spending their free time not just with one another, but supporting a cause that brings hope to children and families across our wonderful city.
A huge thank-you to everyone who participated and helped bring a little more joy to Chicago this holiday season.

This (and every) holiday season, we're grateful for an awesome group that shows up, works hard, and makes Peak stronger every day.
Thank you to our event planners, Leah Geis, Hannah Van Cleve, and Alfonso Menchaca, for your hard work in making this a great evening for everyone.

This month, we're spotlighting (and celebrating) someone who has played a major role in shaping Peak Properties over the past decade and a half: Cory Eisenstein, our Vice President of Property Management.
Cory is officially celebrating his 15th year with Peak; an incredible milestone that reflects not only his dedication, but the impact he's made on our residents, our teams, and the evolution of our scattered-site portfolio. Cory began his journey with Peak as a Property Manager and has grown with the company from the ground up, bringing deep operational knowledge, a steady leadership style, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way.
Today, Cory leads our entire Scattered Site Division and oversees all resident services. He works closely with our leadership team, Regional Property Managers, and on-site teams to ensure every property is running smoothly. His focus on responsiveness, operational efficiency, and elevating the resident experience has been central to the success of this division.
Anyone who's worked with Cory knows his signature leadership style – calm, thoughtful, and incredibly steady (a very valuable trait in property management IYKYK). He's the kind of leader people trust: supportive, collaborative, and always willing to jump in when his teams or residents need him. He's also simply a great person to see around the office.
Outside of work, Cory loves Chicago summers, sports, traveling, and restaurants. If you ever need a restaurant recommendation.. he may be the perfect person to ask.
Cory, congratulations on 15 years! Thank you for your leadership, your commitment to our residents, and the example you set for our teams every day. We're grateful you're part of the team.

Thanksgiving may have passed, but the season of giving is just getting started.
With the holidays around the corner, now is a wonderful time to consider a donation of any kind to support our neighbors in need.
Alongside the PPEC, Brian Chlada recently spearheaded a company-wide food drive at Peak HQ – collecting hundreds of dollars in donations to help Chicagoans facing food insecurity this winter.
We're proud to support Nourishing Hope as they continue their incredible work across our city.
