Peak Properties, LLC has been named to lease, rehabilitate and rebrand 30 units in the South Side’s Hyde Park neighborhood. The property was acquired recently by 5401 S. University, LLC for approximately $5.7 million, and the new owners plan to reposition the apartments as premium student housing near the University of Chicago.<\/p>\n

Renovations are underway at two cojoining buildings located at 5401 S. University Ave and 5411-15 S. University Ave. “This is an unbelievably well-maintained, yet very old property that has not been touched in decades, with 30 very large units that average 1,200-1,300 square feet,” said Mike Zucker, managing partner of Peak Properties.<\/p>\n
